Wingate - Tom Holt, 76, retired farmer of this community, was fatally stricken at 4:45 a.m. today at his home. He was a native of Kentucky, reared and educated in Illinois and farmed in Fountain and Montgomery counties, moving here from south of Hillsboro in 1968. A son of John and Zora Gosser Holt, he was born July 26, 1896. He married Feb 16, 1916 to Odessa Neal of Leroy, Ill. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Lowell of Hillsboro and Thomas D. of Hoopeston, Il; three daughters, Mrs. Leon (Grace) Irvin of Wingate and Mrs. Mildred Fulwider and Mrs. C. O. (Lois) Yerkes of Waynetown, and 16 grandchildren; 8 greats. A son, Floyd, and daughter, Mary and four brothers and two sisters preceded Mr. Holt in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Guy Tremaine and Jack Swank will officiate and burial will be in Waynetown Masonic. - kbz
